State Visit Italy and Vatican City - day 1 State Banquet





His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima made a state visit to Italy from 20 June to 23 June at the invitation of President Sergio Mattarella of the Republic of Italy. In addition to Rome, Palermo was visited in the south and Milan in the north. They were accompanied by Foreign Minister Bert Koenders. The Royal Couple also made a state visit to the Holy See in Vatican City on Thursday, June 22. On the June 20th, 2017, in the evening, President Mattarella offered a state banquet at the Palazzo del Quirinale.

The visit focused on the possible impact of the corona pandemic on mental health care, focusing on both current problems and opportunities and new developments. Design Institute Amman in March 2017

Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday visited the Design Institute Amman (DIA) in support of Jordan’s design industry and met with designers enrolled in its courses and workshops.  The Queen was welcomed by the Founding Director of the institute, Randa Jabaji, who gave her a tour of some of the facility’s workshops and classrooms, according to a statement from Her Majesty’s office.  Queen Rania participated in a discussion with 16 designers, moderated by Jabaji and Amman Design Week co-director Abeer Seikaly.  The debate focused on the status of design education in Jordan, the need to increase awareness about the sector and collaboration between the DIA and the Amman Design Week team.   Her Majesty’s first stop was the institute’s Jewellery Lab, a space dedicated to classes and workshops on the art of jewellery making and design, she  also met with students from the institute’s graphic design classroom, where the introductory-level graphic design programme is taught and  participated in a
