Koningsdag 2016

 Held on April 27 every year and organised by the Orange Committees, it is marked by festivities including a series of concerts, outdoor events and children's games. In 2016 the royals took part in a spot of dancing and even joined in with a game of football as part of the celebrations - including Princess Alexia and Prince Constantijn. As the family sat down to enjoy the performances, they warded off the April chill with fleecey blue blankets.

Prince Henrik of Denmark's birthday portraits

The  Danish royals  have released two new images of one of the younger members of their family and they were taken by an unexpected photographer!  Prince Joachim  and  Princess Marie  shared the portraits of their son, Prince Henrik, on Instagram, to mark his 11th birthday on 4 May and they were captured by his eight-year-old sister, Princess Athena.
