At the fifth annual Teacher Skills Forum

 


In 2019, the forum theme is "Agile Minds, Turning Tides" which Queen Rania attended in her capacity as patron. The Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) organizes -Teacher Skills Forum  -TSF yearly in partnership with the International Baccalaureate (IB). Welcomed to the forum’s main session by QRTA Academic Advisor, Mary Tadros, Her Majesty attended a panel discussion on how to equip upcoming generations with the agility they need to be resilient. On the sidelines of the forum, Her Majesty met with a group of international professionals in the field of education, including members of Harvard Graduate School of Education -HGSE and IB. The meeting with Harvard Graduate School of Education covered joint projects between  Middle East Professional Learning Initiative  and Jordan, the Case Study Development Project for Educators in Jordan. In a second meeting with members of the IB, Her Majesty received an update on the partnership between IB and QRTA, and the performance of Jordanian students in IB examinations. The meeting also discussed IB’s support of Jordan’s examinations and curricula reform agenda.

  Queen Maxima paid a working visit to a Parnassia Group Mental Health Facility in The Hague. The visit focused on the possible impact of the corona pandemic on mental health care, focusing on both current problems and opportunities and new developments. Design Institute Amman in March 2017

Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday visited the Design Institute Amman (DIA) in support of Jordan’s design industry and met with designers enrolled in its courses and workshops.  The Queen was welcomed by the Founding Director of the institute, Randa Jabaji, who gave her a tour of some of the facility’s workshops and classrooms, according to a statement from Her Majesty’s office.  Queen Rania participated in a discussion with 16 designers, moderated by Jabaji and Amman Design Week co-director Abeer Seikaly.  The debate focused on the status of design education in Jordan, the need to increase awareness about the sector and collaboration between the DIA and the Amman Design Week team.   Her Majesty’s first stop was the institute’s Jewellery Lab, a space dedicated to classes and workshops on the art of jewellery making and design, she  also met with students from the institute’s graphic design classroom, where the introductory-level graphic design programme is taught and  participated in a
