Celebrations of the Liberation Day - Terneuzen

 




His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, Her Majesty Queen Mexima and Prime Minister Rutte celebrated the start of 75 years of freedom in the Netherlands on 31 August 2019 in Terneuzen. The Minister of Defence, Ank Bijleveld and Secretary of State for Health, Welfare and Sport, Paul Blokhuis, were also present. During the celebration in Terneuzen, special attention was also paid to the liberation of the southern Netherlands and the Battle of the Scheldt. Veterans from the countries involved at the time were present. First there was a short program in the Scheldetheater where Prime Minister Rutte gave a speech.  Then King Willem-Alexander opened the Jubilee Year by ringing a bell buoy at the Scheldt.  Representatives of the countries involved in the liberation of the Netherlands, including King Filip and Queen Mathilde, were also invited to the celebrations.

The visit focused on the possible impact of the corona pandemic on mental health care, focusing on both current problems and opportunities and new developments. Design Institute Amman in March 2017

Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday visited the Design Institute Amman (DIA) in support of Jordan’s design industry and met with designers enrolled in its courses and workshops.  The Queen was welcomed by the Founding Director of the institute, Randa Jabaji, who gave her a tour of some of the facility’s workshops and classrooms, according to a statement from Her Majesty’s office.  Queen Rania participated in a discussion with 16 designers, moderated by Jabaji and Amman Design Week co-director Abeer Seikaly.  The debate focused on the status of design education in Jordan, the need to increase awareness about the sector and collaboration between the DIA and the Amman Design Week team.   Her Majesty’s first stop was the institute’s Jewellery Lab, a space dedicated to classes and workshops on the art of jewellery making and design, she  also met with students from the institute’s graphic design classroom, where the introductory-level graphic design programme is taught and  participated in a
