State visit Indonesia - day 2

 


His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Mexima visited the Republic of Indonesia at the invitation of President Joko Widodo. The royal couple visited the cities of Jakarta and Yogyakarta on Java and the islands of Kalimantan and Sumatra. On Wednesday, March 11th, the royal couple began a conversation about opportunities and challenges for Dutch companies in Indonesia. The delegation then left for Yogyakarta, where they were received by the Sultan of Yogyakarta at his palace, the Kraton Nga Yogyakarta Hadiningrat. After lunch at the palace, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Mxima visited the "connected kampoeng", a neighbourhood where the advent of the Internet allowed residents to improve their living and living together. The Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) focuses on scientific cooperation between Indonesia and the Netherlands. The royal couple discussed the innovative Academy with the students. The Innovative Academy encourages creative collaboration in the creation of digital startups.
