Day of honoring the Denmark's emissaries
The Flag Day is all about honoring the people who are or have been sent on a mission abroad by Denmark. It is also a day to recognize the professional efforts that our emissaries make in some of the world's most conflicted areas. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary have both participated the Flag Day for mange years now. I think it is a wonderful way for them to show support to those we lost in combat; those who are right in the middle of war areas and for their families at home. They arrived to Kastellet in Copenhagen to honor those soldiers, who have died in war. The atmosphere was clearly affected by the reason why people were gathered. It even rained at the ceremony. Denmark's Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen held a speech capturing the essens of the meaning of why Flag Day is so important. The couple also placed a wreath at the Monoment for Denmark's International Effort since 1948 located at Kastellet. Several other official institutions also paid their respect with a wreath. The Government, the police and Danish Veterans were amongst those who placed wreath's.
