The Duchess teamed up with The Book Fairies to mark the publication of Hold Still, a literary movement which urges readers to share books which they have read and enjoyed by leaving them in public spaces for others to find. In total, 150 copies of the book have been hidden in secret locations across the UK by the Hold Still judging panel. So, She visited The Royal London Hospital and the National Portrait Gallery's Archive, a year to the day since she launched the community project with the Gallery. She visited the Royal London Hospital in east London to learn how Barts Health NHS Trust's Vital Arts organisation commissions art for the Royal London and the trust's other hospitals to improve the patient and staff experience.

Design Institute Amman in March 2017

Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday visited the Design Institute Amman (DIA) in support of Jordan’s design industry and met with designers enrolled in its courses and workshops.  The Queen was welcomed by the Founding Director of the institute, Randa Jabaji, who gave her a tour of some of the facility’s workshops and classrooms, according to a statement from Her Majesty’s office.  Queen Rania participated in a discussion with 16 designers, moderated by Jabaji and Amman Design Week co-director Abeer Seikaly.  The debate focused on the status of design education in Jordan, the need to increase awareness about the sector and collaboration between the DIA and the Amman Design Week team.   Her Majesty’s first stop was the institute’s Jewellery Lab, a space dedicated to classes and workshops on the art of jewellery making and design, she  also met with students from the institute’s graphic design classroom, where the introductory-level graphic design programme is taught and  participated in a
