On Day 2 of State Visit to Cuba




In the Gran Teatro de La Habana, The King and The Queen of Spain visited the photographic exhibition "Spain-Cuba: with you in the distance". The display covers 500 years of Cuban history, 80 years of the Spanish news agency Agencia EFE, and 70 years of Iberia airline flying to Cuba. Following the tour of the exhibition, Their Majesties attended a Ballet Gala at the theatre by the Cuban National Ballet and concluded their full day with an official welcome dinner at the Palacio de la Revolucion hosted by the President of Cuba and First Lady

Design Institute Amman in March 2017

Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday visited the Design Institute Amman (DIA) in support of Jordan’s design industry and met with designers enrolled in its courses and workshops.  The Queen was welcomed by the Founding Director of the institute, Randa Jabaji, who gave her a tour of some of the facility’s workshops and classrooms, according to a statement from Her Majesty’s office.  Queen Rania participated in a discussion with 16 designers, moderated by Jabaji and Amman Design Week co-director Abeer Seikaly.  The debate focused on the status of design education in Jordan, the need to increase awareness about the sector and collaboration between the DIA and the Amman Design Week team.   Her Majesty’s first stop was the institute’s Jewellery Lab, a space dedicated to classes and workshops on the art of jewellery making and design, she  also met with students from the institute’s graphic design classroom, where the introductory-level graphic design programme is taught and  participated in a
