ABC International Journalism Awards






At the ABC Headquarters in Madrid, Their Majesties presided over the gala dinner of the 100th edition of the ABC International Journalism Awards: Mariano de Cavia, Luca de Tena and Mingote Award. ABC is a daily newspaper - the third-largest general-interest newspaper in Spain and the oldest newspaper still operating in Madrid. ​ The publishing company convenes its three International Journalism Awards to recognise the career and the best journalistic works published by publishing companies in their media, in the categories of journalism, graphic journalism and drawing, throughout 2019.King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia presented the prizes, after, King Felipe VI gave a speech of hope and thanked the press for their efforts during the harshest days of the pandemic.

  Queen Maxima paid a working visit to a Parnassia Group Mental Health Facility in The Hague. The visit focused on the possible impact of the corona pandemic on mental health care, focusing on both current problems and opportunities and new developments. Design Institute Amman in March 2017

Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday visited the Design Institute Amman (DIA) in support of Jordan’s design industry and met with designers enrolled in its courses and workshops.  The Queen was welcomed by the Founding Director of the institute, Randa Jabaji, who gave her a tour of some of the facility’s workshops and classrooms, according to a statement from Her Majesty’s office.  Queen Rania participated in a discussion with 16 designers, moderated by Jabaji and Amman Design Week co-director Abeer Seikaly.  The debate focused on the status of design education in Jordan, the need to increase awareness about the sector and collaboration between the DIA and the Amman Design Week team.   Her Majesty’s first stop was the institute’s Jewellery Lab, a space dedicated to classes and workshops on the art of jewellery making and design, she  also met with students from the institute’s graphic design classroom, where the introductory-level graphic design programme is taught and  participated in a
