At the ABC Headquarters in Madrid,  Their Majesties presided over the gala dinner of the 100th edition of the ABC International Journalism Awards: Mariano de Cavia, Luca de Tena and Mingote Award.   ABC is a daily newspaper - the third-largest general-interest newspaper in Spain and the oldest newspaper still operating in Madrid.  ​  The publishing company convenes its three International Journalism Awards to recognise the career and the best journalistic works published by publishing companies in their media, in the categories of journalism, graphic journalism and drawing, throughout 2019. King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia presented the prizes,  after,  King Felipe VI gave a speech of hope and thanked the press for their efforts during the harshest days of the pandemic. 

At Caixaforum on May 28, 2019 in Madrid, Spain,  Queen Letizia joined her husband King Felipe VI on Tuesday to deliver the 37th edition of "la Caixa" scholarships to 120 Spanish students selected for postgraduate studies at the best universities around the world.

    International stars, including Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Nicola Sturgeon, Chantelle Winnie, Ursula von der Leyen, Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan, Leymah Gbowee, Sara Khan and Sarah Gavron, converged on London Thursday and Friday for Tina Brown’s Women in the World summit.  The two-day summit’s varied agenda includes in-depth discussions with participants about geopolitics, women in soccer, the film industry, misogyny, the role of the monarchy, female suffrage, poetry, and women fighting terror, among other themes.

Established in 2010, the International Circassian Cultural Academy is a non-profit organization that aims to preserve Circassian culture and spread awareness about it, both locally and internationally. Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday visited the Design Institute Amman (DIA) in support of Jordan’s design industry and met with designers enrolled in its courses and workshops.  The Queen was welcomed by the Founding Director of the institute, Randa Jabaji, who gave her a tour of some of the facility’s workshops and classrooms, according to a statement from Her Majesty’s office.  Queen Rania participated in a discussion with 16 designers, moderated by Jabaji and Amman Design Week co-director Abeer Seikaly.  The debate focused on the status of design education in Jordan, the need to increase awareness about the sector and collaboration between the DIA and the Amman Design Week team.   Her Majesty’s first stop was the institute’s Jewellery Lab, a space dedicated to classes and workshops on the art of jewellery making and design, she  also met with students from the institute’s graphic design classroom, where the introductory-level graphic design programme is taught and  participated in a

Trump and First Lady Melania Trump .
